Teach Me to Pray

A prayer from Henri Nouwen..

Every day I see again that only you can teach me to pray,
only you can set my heart at rest.
Only you can let me dwell in your presence.

No book, no concept or theory will ever bring me close to you
unless you yourself are the one who lets them become the doors to you.

But Lord, let me at least remain open to your initiative.
Let me wait patiently and attentively for the hour when you will come
and break through the walls I have erected.

Create new doors.
Teach me, O Lord, to pray

  1. Please claim and declare Acts 16:31 for my husband Tony. Let the enemy know It is written and therefore it is SO because God says it and He is always faithfull to fulfill His promises and His Word never returns void. Please ask the Lord to give me strength and patience and to help me to do Gods will. Thankyou for praying in agreement with me brothers and sisters. I'm going to keep asking, knocking and persevering with faith and trust in Almighty God. Always in Jesus name with thanksgiving. Amen.

  2. I'm always adding a ps. Forgot to say lets not to forget to remind that enemy in Jesus name that the battle is already won. We are bought and paid for by the precious spotless blood of the Lamb of God our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and He is seated at the right hand of the Father forevermore with the keys of hell and death. The enemy is defeated and God has already won. Hallelujah and Amen
